The AI Visibility Problem And How to Fix It

The AI Visibility Problem And How to Fix It

If you’re a solo founder or a small marketing team, you’ve probably spent real time on SEO. Title tags, meta descriptions, backlinks, maybe even structured data if you’ve gone deep enough. You’ve optimised for Google.

But here’s something most people haven’t checked: when a potential customer opens ChatGPT and asks “what’s the best tool for X”, does your brand appear?

For most businesses, the answer is no. And most of them have no idea.

Why AI search is different from Google

Google ranks pages. AI engines summarise knowledge. They don’t crawl your site in real time. They were trained on data, and they recommend brands that were visible enough, often enough, in the right contexts, to become part of what they know.

That means traditional SEO doesn’t automatically translate to AI visibility. You can have a fast site, clean schema, and a solid backlink profile and still be invisible when someone asks Claude or ChatGPT to recommend a product in your category.

This is the gap we built Dablin to fill.

The problem is worse for solo founders and small teams

Enterprise brands have PR teams, content teams, and years of brand mentions across the web. AI engines know who they are.

If you’re running a Shopify store, a boutique SaaS, or a growing e-commerce brand, you’re competing against brands with 10x the content surface area. You’re not invisible because your product is worse. You’re invisible because you haven’t had the tools to fix the right things.

That’s what Dablin is for.

What Dablin does

We built six tools that work together to give you a complete picture of where you stand and exactly what to fix.

1. AI Visibility Check

Enter your URL. Dablin reads your brand, generates 7 targeted queries across three buyer intent stages (problem queries, category queries, and comparison queries) and sends them to ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude simultaneously.

You get back a table. Each row is a query. Each column is an AI engine. Green check: you were mentioned. Red cross: you weren’t, and we show you who was instead.

The three query types matter more than most people realise. Problem queries reach buyers before they even know your category exists (“my store isn’t getting organic traffic, what am I doing wrong?”). Comparison queries catch buyers at decision stage (“alternatives to X for small teams”). Most brands only think about category queries and miss both ends of the funnel.

2. AI Query Check

Same engine, different input. If your site isn’t live yet, you want to test a specific brand angle, or you want full control over how queries are framed, describe your brand in plain language instead of pasting a URL. Dablin generates the same 7 typed queries for you to review before running.

3. AI Visibility Audit

Knowing you’re invisible is only half the problem. Knowing why is the other half.

The AI Visibility Audit runs 12 technical checks on your page: do you have a llms.txt file? Is GPTBot blocked in your robots.txt? Do you have Organization schema? sameAs links pointing to your social profiles? WebSite schema? Every failed check generates the exact fix (the JSON-LD block, the robots.txt rule, the HTML tag) ready to copy and paste. No developer needed.

4. SEO Audit

18 checks across content quality, technical SEO, structured data, and the two new signals from Google’s March 2026 core update: Information Gain and AI Overview eligibility.

Information Gain checks whether your page adds something original. Unique data, author signals, first-hand experience. Pages that are generic summaries of what’s already on the web are being deprioritised. AI Overview eligibility checks whether your page has FAQPage or HowTo schema, or question-structured headings, which increases the chance of appearing in Google’s AI-generated search summaries.

Both signals are new. Most SEO tools don’t check them yet.

5. SEO/GEO Dashboard

Every issue from your AI Visibility Audit and SEO Audit becomes a prioritised Kanban ticket. Critical first, good-to-have last. Drag from To Do to In Progress to Done as you fix them. Re-scan to auto-close resolved tickets.

For a solo founder or a small team managing multiple priorities, this is the difference between a pile of audit results and an actual work queue.

6. Google Search Console Integration

Connect your GSC account and get striking distance keywords (positions 8 to 20 with small CTR gains available), pages Google discovered but didn’t index, Core Web Vitals scores, and query performance, all inside Dablin alongside your other tools. Available on the Agency plan.

Who this is for

Dablin was built specifically for people who don’t have a team of specialists. Solo founders who are doing SEO themselves alongside everything else. Marketing teams of two or three covering product, content, and distribution simultaneously. E-commerce operators who need to know what to fix without wading through a 40-page audit report.

The tools are fast. Most results in under 30 seconds. Every failed check includes a fix. The dashboard turns results into a prioritised task list. You don’t need to know what llms.txt is before you start. Dablin tells you what it is, why it matters, and gives you the exact code to add it.

The March 2026 shift

Google’s March 2026 core update finished rolling out in under 20 hours, the fastest in Google’s history. It introduced Information Gain scoring and AI Overview eligibility as ranking signals. At the same time, AI engines like ChatGPT and Gemini are now a meaningful source of product discovery for a growing share of buyers.

Search in 2026 isn’t one channel. It’s Google, AI search, and the increasingly blurry overlap between the two. Optimising for one and ignoring the other is leaving visibility on the table.

Where to start

Run the AI Visibility Check on your URL at dablin.co. You’ll know within 20 seconds whether ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude mention your brand when buyers search your category, and which competitors they recommend instead.

Then run the Dashboard scan for a full prioritised list of what to fix first.

The issues that matter most are almost always the same: missing llms.txt, blocked AI crawlers, no Organization schema, weak Information Gain score. They’re not hard to fix. They’re just invisible until you check.
